At Snoopy’s Home Ice, the Santa Rosa Junior College Polar Bears locker room is a scene of organized intensity long before the first puck drops. Sticks whack against the concrete, gloves slap against benches and a faint pulse of music threads through the noise.

Every player moves with a rhythm only he understands, from the order in which he straps on pads to the precise way he tapes his stick.

In hockey, routines aren’t just habits — they’re a lifeline. They calm the nerves, focus the mind and give players a sense of control over a game that moves faster than most can track. Some rituals verge on superstition, while others are purely practical.

For players Logan Koop, Traber Burns and Adam Berry, game day is a careful balancing act between psychology, preparation and habit.

Polar Bears Keep Their Cool and Continue Fighting

The SRJC Polar Bears have been skating through a frosty start to the season, but there’s no melting under pressure for this den. On October 11, SRJC took on the UC Santa Cruz Banana Slugs at home, and while they fell short on the scoreboard, the Bears proved they’ve got more bite than the numbers show, Story Linked Here . Back on home ice on October 24, the Polar Bears faced the Santa Clara Broncos in a high-energy matchup where the Broncos came out on top, but SRJC showed clear progress, stronger puck movement, and a few flashes of pure Polar brilliance. The rematch in San Jose? Another chilling result, but every shift was another ice-chip closer to finding that winning rhythm. Through every game, the Polar Bears have been sharpening their claws and proving that hard work, heart, and each and every practice rep goes a long ways. The team’s chemistry is building as fast as fresh ice between periods, and you can feel that a breakout is just a rimmed puck around the corner.

Through these first few matchups, the real MVPs have been in the seats and circling the glass of Snoopy's Home Ice. Polar Bear fans have packed our home barn at each of our home games, bringing a blizzard of energy that could melt any opponent’s resolve. Add in the SRJC Cheer Squad, whose spirit was as loud as a slapshot off the glass, and you’ve got a fan base that’s truly un-brrr-lievable.

Resilient Start at Home: Polar Bears Push Forward After Hard-Fought Series vs. Santa Clara

Our SRJC Polar Bears hit the ice this past weekend for their third and fourth games of the season, squaring off against a tough Santa Clara University squad in a two-game home-and-away series. While the results didn’t go our way, these games marked a key step forward in our journey. The fight in our Polar Bears is unshakeable.

Saturday night was a special one: our first home game of the season at Snoopy’s Home Ice. The energy in our home barn picked up right where it left off in last year’s return to the Polar Bear Den. From the roar of the crowd to the sea of SRJC colors in the stands, the support was nothing short of incredible. A huge thank you to our fans! YOU made the barn feel like home, and your energy fueled us for the season to come.

On the ice, our Polar Bears showed resilience and heart. We battled hard, stayed engaged, and continued building the chemistry that will define this group. These games showed just how much this team is growing, learning, adjusting, and sharpening our identity every time we lace up. The scoreboard may not reflect all the work yet, but make no mistake: progress is happening, and belief in this locker room is strong.

This is just the beginning. The season is young, our goals are clear, and the best is still to come.

SRJC Hockey Opens Season with High Energy and Grit in Reno

The SRJC Polar Bears officially kicked off their 2025-26 season with a high-intensity road series in Reno, Nevada, taking on the University of Nevada Reno Wolf Pack. The energy in the rink was electric all weekend long, and while the scoreboard didn’t tilt in favor of Santa Rosa Junior College, the Polar Bears proved they’re ready to make noise this season.

SRJC battled until the final buzzer in both games, showcasing relentless effort, improving chemistry, and a hunger that will only grow as the season unfolds.

The weekend was full of bright spots — chief among them, the standout performance of goaltender Luc Caron , who was nothing short of phenomenal. Facing a barrage of shots, Caron stood tall between the pipes, turning aside well over 100 shots across the two-game set . His impressive performance kept the Polar Bears in both contests and earned him well-deserved praise from teammates, coaches, and fans alike.

Offensively, there was some early controversy as forward Bryce Bradley appeared to have scored what many believed to be the first goal of the season — Bryce made all the right moves on a breakaway and getting a shot on goal. As the goalie slid back into his own net, the puck appeared to cross the line, but the officials ruled it no goal, waving it off amid disagreement from the SRJC bench and fans.

However, the honor of opening the scoring for SRJC this season belongs to Kai Krombholz , who found the back of the net with a powerful drive through the defense, putting the Polar Bears on the board and setting the tone for what promises to be an exciting year of hockey.

The Polar Bears now turn their focus to their next matchup against Santa Clara University Broncos . The two-game series kicks off with an away game on October 3 at 9:15 PM at Sharks Ice Fremont (Solar4America) , but the real spotlight is on the home opener on October 4 — and you won’t want to miss it.

We are BACK in the ACHA!

No hibernation for this pack of Polar Bears! We are hungrier than ever.. a new den of local, ambitious junior college students are clawing at the chance to return to the ice bringing the ferociously frozen action our fans deserve.

SRJC Hockey rejoins the West Coast Hockey Conference (WCHC), ACHA Division M3 collegiate play. The Polar Bears are buzzing as we prepare for the upcoming season looking forward to matchups against, UC Davis, University of Nevada-Reno, Santa Clara University, UC Santa Cruz, CSU Fullerton, UC Santa Barbara, San Jose State University, Park University, and MORE.

This sleuth of Polar Bears is helping rebuild the college hockey community in a positive and fruitful way, with outstanding character, honorable sportsmanship, and a contagious passion for the game of hockey. The buzz and support of the community and the numerous efforts to revive this ice hockey club has been overwhelmingly resilient. The leaders being put in place have done nothing but encourage excellence in performance by all participants in intercollegiate athletics, as well as support those very students in their personal pursuits of academic achievement. Our recruiting efforts are directed toward student-athletes residing in Sonoma County and the immediate surrounding communities because investing in our local roots is sure to build an unshakeable foundation for our brand of college ice hockey with a promising future. That same community deserves more of this beautiful game, ice hockey on the college level. Student-athletes thrive when they get the opportunity to pursue both their athletic and academic dreams.

We are back on the ice and looking forward to our first Friday and Saturday 2-game series, Sept. 19-20, against the UNR Wolfpack. This is set up to be a thrilling season opener.

The support for Santa Rosa Junior College Hockey is felt all around, and the buzz for more hockey is palpable. We can't wait to be back on our Snoopy's Home Ice and invite you to experience the action in person and remind visiting colleges and universities why Santa Rosa Hockey Fans are the best out west!!! The 2024-2025 SRJC Polar Bear's season is wrap.
The support for Santa Rosa Junior College Hockey was felt all around, and the excitement in our Snoopy's Home Ice arena was palpable. Thank YOU for bringing back the ruckus!!!

Big things are on the horizon for the upcoming 2025-2026 season as SRJC rejoins the West Coast Hockey Conference (WCHC), ACHA Division M3 collegiate play. Polar Bears WIN! and SRJC Cheerleading sets the tone...

It was a Friday and Saturday home series for the SRJC Ice Hockey Club facing off against Fresno State. Fresno came out and put up a fight, but the Polar Bears were hungry to get that first win. The Polar Bears answered the bell getting their first and second W of the season. Friday Night brought out the SRJC Cheerleading squad, their team fresh off a Regionals victory and getting ready for Nationals. And WOW did they bring the energy! We were looking to set an all time record for most cheerleaders at an SRJC hockey game with 29 plus 2 of their coaches! Their energy was ELECTRIC, and the support was felt all weekend. It felt as good as getting back into the win column. Our next home games are scheduled for February 21 and 22. That will be round 2 vs Reno. In the meantime...

Friday Night brought a new wave of energy injected into SRJC Hockey as we traveled to Fremont, CA to take on the Santa Clara University. It was a hard fought battle from the start and the Polar Bears set the tone with their physicality and some big hits. The Bears landed the first punch on the scoreboard with a 1-0 lead. The Broncos answered with 2 goals of their own. Their was no shortage of fight in this SRJC squad tonight making it 2-2 tie game going into the 3rd. This showdown was a grind until the final buzzer, but ultimately, the Broncos came away with the 3-2 win. It was another tough test for the Polar Bears but a swell of confidence and energy was tangible in the locker room following the game. SRJC looks to take that momentum into our next matchup with Fresno State University at the end of the month. It will be an opportunity for the Polar Bears to get their first win of the season at home in their own den. We hope to see SRJC fans turn out strong and 'Bring the Ruckus' back to Snoopy's Home Ice.

As the Spring Semester is upon us, SRJC Ice Hockey is returning to the ice, this Friday in Fremont, to take on Santa Clara University. The Polar Bear energy at practice has been contagious, and the boys are buzzing! Although, the Broncos are already deep into their season and will present a tough test, this SRJC squad is ready to rumble. Once the puck drops, anything is possible..

We have been looking forward to getting back on the ice in January. We are less than 10 days away from our first matchup of the year against Santa Clara University. Later this month, we are excited to host a 2 game home series agains University of Nevada-Reno. The world is a better place with Santa Rosa JC Hockey back in business and ready to return to the ice. We hope this new year brings you and your loved ones the blessings you deserve. On Friday evening, the Polar Bears traveled to meet the UC Davis Aggies inside the frigid Vacaville Ice house. The first period, the Bears and Aggies traded chances as the Aggies put on some heat but ended the first period 0-0. The second period saw a rush of Aggies goals breaking open a 0-7 lead. A true test of a second period, that the Polar Bears were anxious to rid themselves of the bad taste. The third period was finally more in the Polar Bear favor as the Hockey Gods rewarded a 2-0 3rd period, but the Polar Bears ultimately fell 2-7 in Vacaville. On deck, the Polar Bears' set their sights on a Saturday Night rematch in our home barn..

The turnout was overwhelmingly positive and the energy inside the Snoopy's Home Ice Arena on a cool, fall Saturday Night, electric... The Polar Bears were buzzing this weekend, mostly eager to get out on the ice, finally hunting altogether. It was a contagious vibe for Santa Rosa College Hockey. The Home Opener. After a dormant year in hibernation off ice, the boys were starving to get some action inside the den. The Polar Bears found ways to eat. 2-2 at the end of the first, the Bears and the packed house crowd were buzzing. Endless great plays and some juicy hits were feasted on, deserving of praise and props. Another tough test, the Polar Bears fell to the Aggies,
6-4. Though the results are not what we were looking for in this tough test, the Bears were hustling and clawing up to the final buzzer.

With the progress and production rapidly gaining momentum, these ice-loving Polar Bears will look ahead to another showdown under the lights for one more bout versus the UC Davis Aggies @ Vacaville Ice, this upcoming Friday Evening, November 22, in Vacaville, CA, 9:00 PM.

THANK YOU Polar Bear Fans for showing up and showing out in our first games back on the ice! Your cheers and love was heard and felt!

We are hungrier than ever and looking forward to the next feast..

After a year of hibernation, this pack of Polar Bears is hungrier than ever.. Some local, ambitious junior college students are clawing at the chance to return to the ice bringing the ferociously frozen action fans have been missing.

This sleuth of Polar Bears is helping rebuild the college hockey community in a positive and fruitful way, with outstanding character, honorable sportsmanship, and a contagious passion for the game of hockey. Looking to compete to the best of their abilities on the ice in accordance with the rules of the ACHA conference they aspire to rejoin, the passion is unquestionable. The buzz and support of the community and the numerous efforts to restart this ice hockey club has been overwhelmingly resilient. The leaders being put in place have done nothing but encourage excellence in performance by all participants in intercollegiate athletics, as well as support those very students in their personal pursuits of academic achievement. The recruiting efforts have been directed toward student-athletes residing in Sonoma County and the immediate surrounding communities because investing in our local roots is sure to build an unshakeable foundation for college ice hockey with a promising future.

While it might be apparent we have a few details to iron out, our mission remains the same. The Santa Rosa community deserves to see the revival of this beautiful game called ice hockey at the college level. Student-athletes thrive when they get the opportunity to pursue both their athletic and academic dreams.

We are warming up for our 2024-2025 season this Friday and Saturday with a home-and-away 2-game series against the UC Davis Aggies. This is set up to be a thrilling season opener. Don't miss out! Come cheer us on and help us reignite ice hockey being played by actively enrolled college students in Santa Rosa as it returns to our beloved Snoopy's barn where it belongs!
