To the Santa Rosa Junior College Hockey community, its fans, sponsors and supporters, As management of the SRJC Ice Hockey team, we are writing to address the recent issues with our upcoming season that many of you have brought to our attention. With the release of our official 2016-2017 season schedule last week, we failed to disclose the significant time change for the team’s home games at Snoopy’s Home Ice. After several years of an 8:30 p.m. game time, this year each of the 9 games at Snoopy’s Home Ice will have a 9:15 p.m. start time. This time change is of no choice of our own. It was, unfortunately, the only time slot provided to us by Snoopy’s Home Ice. In order to continue delivering collegiate hockey to Santa Rosa, we have agreed to take the 9:15 p.m. ice time, ensuring that the SRJC Hockey team continues its storied legacy in our home town.
We apologize for any and all inconveniences the time change for our season’s home games may cause you. We completely understand that pushing the start time 45 minutes later produces a variety of different problems. Especially for our fans with younger children and those who travel from outside of the area to see us. Our organization would be nothing without the support of our fans and sponsors. We understand that having later games may hinder you from staying for the entire duration of the match, or prevent you from attending at all. That was not our intention with the time change, nor was it the intention of Snoopy’s Home Ice. As of this moment there is nothing that the SRJC Ice Hockey team can do to change the currently scheduled game times, however, we are working towards providing an increased entertainment value for our events. We have several ideas to provide the best game experience possible, many of which are geared towards our youth fans who may not be able to stay for the entire night. Again, we are sorry to those who are greatly affected by the game time changes. We hope that you will continue to pack the arena for our games; creating an unparalleled atmosphere and energy for our players. Thank you for your understanding and continued support of our program. Without you, the SRJC Ice Hockey team could not continue to operate as one of the most elite collegiate hockey programs in the State. We hope to see you at our home games this season! Thank you, Tom Billeter, General Manager Jacob Fitzpatrick, Director of Operations Keshia Knight, Director of Communications |
