Santa Rosa, California (March 28, 2017): The Santa Rosa Junior College Hockey team today announced it has set the official date for the organization’s end-of-year alumni game. The Polar Bears will welcome players from the last 17 years of SRJC Hockey to participate in a Blue and White game at 5:45 p.m. on April 8 at Snoopy’s Home Ice in Santa Rosa. The alumni game marks a special place in SRJC hockey history each year, bringing together star players from both the early 2000s team and those who helped rebrand it in 2010 after a long hiatus. Players new and old get a chance to mingle together in a fun and friendly game, each competing for bragging rights as SRJC’s finest Polar Bears skaters. While rosters for both teams are still being finalized, fans can expect many big names to return to their favorite college hockey rink.
SRJC Hockey General Manager, Tom Billeter, will once again suit up in his retired No. 7 jersey. He will most likely head up the alumni team against his current Polar Bear players. With the exception of a few SRJC campus events, including Day Under the Oaks on May 7, this will be the last time fans can see the Polar Bears on the ice. SRJC will break for a four-month offseason before beginning training camp in late July/early August. The team is expected to begin its 2017-18 season in September. If any former SRJC Hockey players would like to participate in this game, please contact the team at this link |
