The Polar Bears played a hard fought game against the Fresno Bulldogs on Friday, January 31st. There were so many penalties from both teams during this game, the scorekeepers filled up the whole sheet! Fresno scored the only two goals in the first period. SRJC's forward, Auston Ghirardelli, responded with the first two goals in the second, however, Fresno closed the period with three more goals. Fresno put one in the net early in the 3rd. The Polar Bear's captain, Bobby Rogers, found the back of the Bulldog's net twice before Fresno scored twice more. SRJC forward, Josh Sampietro, gave it one more try with 27 seconds left in the 3rd, to make the final score 8-5 Fresno. Saturday's game against Stanford was the final game of the season for the Polar Bears. With the exception of a single goal by Bobby Rogers in the first period, number 89, Auston Ghirardelli, scored 7 of the 8 goals for the night for the team. It was a strong finish for Santa Rosa who ended up the first seed in the PCHA conference.
